ABOUT

I'm a photographer and videographer from New Zealand, now living in Historic Sandy, Utah, USA.

My passion is the pursuit of optical excellence .

I've had a lifelong desire to travel, hike and explore. In 1988 I moved to the Cook Islands and located maps of the long forgotten hiking routes to really explore the islands interior.

In 1989 I embarked on a six-month mountain bike tour of Germany, France, Switzerland and then through England and Scotland. Traveling with my Yashica Samurai.

A year later I flew to Argentina and Chile for a four month mountain bike tour of the Andes and Patagonia. I took a paraglider and hiking shoes and had the adventure of a life time.

A few months later I took up work in a summer camp among the Adirondacks in New York. The stunning landscape and outdoor opportunities were boundless.

In 2014, I completed a six month motorcycle tour in the USA. 25000 Miles, 29 States, 25 National Parks, hundreds of new friends and a Sony NEX6. Later that year I wrote a book about my travels showcasing America in photos and a glimpse into life on the road.

from 2015 to 2019 I shot a mix of Canon full frame and Hasselblad medium format. Covering local events, concerts, festivals as well as my own landscape, nature and architecture.

As the world went to lockdown in 2020, I went into overdrive to follow a dream. Working within the restrictions imposed around the world, I made my way back to the USA. Once again traveling by motorcycle until the day I met Teresa. Suddenly, my heart and and my soul found a home, we married in the time of covid. Based in Sandy, Utah, I continue this journey as a professional photographer, storyteller and spokesperson for the wonderful world on which we live.
